## What speckit-companion does, in the publisher's words

A canvas extension for the GitHub Copilot app. It opens a live board of every spec in your workspace, next to the chat.

- Board. Every spec folder under specs/ (or your speckit.specDirectories), most recently active first. Each row shows its status, a four-step rail (specify → plan → tasks → implement), and task progress. Filter by Active, Done or All, or search by name or number.
- Spec detail. The pipeline rail, the next step with a button that runs it, then the same tabs as the VS Code viewer: an Overview dossier (intent, timing per step, expectations, what was verified, decisions, coverage), and the spec, plan, tasks, research, data model and checklists rendered through the viewer's own markdown pipeline and stylesheet. An Activity tab lists the run history.

From the project README, punctuation lightly normalized. Full text: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alfredoperez/speckit-companion/HEAD/apps/copilot-canvas/README.md
