Agent Plugins Weekly is a once-a-week email listing every new Agent Plugin our crawler verified that week, how the total moved, and what changed in the specification or in client documentation. Every number comes from re-fetching manifests and validating them against the official 1.0.0 schema. Free, one email per week.

What you get

New verified plugins. Our crawler runs daily against GitHub, fetches every candidate plugin.json, and checks it against the official schema before anything is listed. The email carries the week's additions with what each one actually contains: skill count, whether it declares an mcp.json, publisher, and license.

The count, and how it moved. We keep every snapshot of the dataset, so week-over-week change is measured rather than estimated. The baseline: 257 distinct plugins, 1,209 skills, and 83 MCP server configurations across 133 repositories, verified 2026-08-07.

Publishers arriving. Which vendors shipped an official plugin, and which large repositories converted an existing skills collection to the portable format.

Spec and client changes. We re-sync the schemas from agent-plugins.org and recheck each client's install documentation. When ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, VS Code, or Kiro publishes something new about installing plugins, it goes in the email and the install guides get updated the same week.

Cadence and what we will not send

One email a week. No daily digests, no drip sequence, no sponsored plugin dressed up as a listing. If a week produces nothing worth reporting, we say so in two lines rather than padding it.

The standard shipped on 2026-08-06, so this newsletter starts with the ecosystem itself. Early issues will be short and specific.
